Raga Shudh Sarang is an early afternoon raga. Here is an unreleased recording from when I performed at the Indian classical music festival presented by Helende Geluiden in Haarlem, Netherlands in April of 2018.

This is a special recording because it features Wim Bosman on tabla. Wim is likely the first Dutch tabla player. As a young man, he heard some LPs of Indian classical music and was moved to try and build his own tabla, since at that time there were no tabla in Netherlands at all. He built his own drums and tried playing along with records. Eventually he got a couple tabla lessons from some musicians who were on tour and corrected his technique. He is now a student of Pt. Parthasarathy Mukherjee, a renowned tabla player who famously toured and recorded with Pt. Ravi Shankar.

Wim is a wonderful human being, humble musician with a beautiful aesthetic sense and I was very blessed to perform with him.
